Vaida Elizabeth Parker is an 8 year old little girl from Scottsboro Alabama that has recently been diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Type C.
This is an ultra rare genetic disorder that is progressive and ultimately fatal. It damages various organs but more particularly the brain, liver, spleen and lungs.
There are a couple of FDA approved medicines to treat the symptoms of Niemann-Pick but no known cure yet. The medicine is costly upwards of $40,000-$80,000 a month before insurance.
Vaida is a bright light in this world. She loves to draw, sing, dance and cheer. She is the best sister to her brothers Luka and Keaton.
